That’s right, I’m going for the classic Dragon’s Lair video game. The most difficult, time-consuming, money-eating game in arcade history. It was the first game I remember seeing in an arcade that cost a whole dollar to play. If you didn’t know the exact order of the moves to make Dirk do, you died immediately and lost your dollar inside two minutes. Soooo frustrating. Everyone kept playing it, though, because the graphics looked like a Disney cartoon and compared to the graphics on the Ms. Pacman game next to it, that’s a huge jump. This was the game that taught you to hang back and watch a little, let others waste their money dying, and learn the ropes first. Here’s the beginning of the rough-out.
